Article variants are subordinate articles that are equipped with additional characteristics.

Article variants always consist of a main article (parent article).
This is created like a normal article. It does not have to contain any sales data (price, etc.), but is only used to summarize the different variants.
One or more subordinate articles are created from the main article.

The newly created article now requires the corresponding variant data in the properties. Any combination of data is also possible (e.g. size “L” and color “red”).

The possible variants are stored like properties in the item settings (Item management → Settings → Properties). Selectable variations are stored like default values, separated by a semicolon.

By clicking on language symbols, the variants can be entered in other languages. However, default values only remain in one language!

The subordinate articles (variants of the main article) appear under the basic data.

When opening a subordinate article, the main article number and name are displayed. To return to the main article, click on the three-dot menu → Edit main article

or, if you are in other tabs, click on the main article.
